BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES

Background and Rationale:

The relationship between the Church and society is of paramount importance in shaping the well-being and progress of nations. The Church plays a crucial role in addressing societal challenges, nurturing moral values, promoting social justice, and fostering sustainable development. Recognizing the significance of this relationship, we propose an international conference on "The Church and Society" to explore and strengthen the collaborative engagement between these spheres.

Conference Objectives:

1.  To facilitate an interdisciplinary dialogue among scholars, religious leaders, policymakers, and practitioners on the role of the Church in addressing contemporary societal issues.

2.  To examine the impact of the Church on social transformation, including its contributions to education, healthcare, poverty alleviation, peacebuilding, and environmental stewardship.

3.  To explore effective strategies for enhancing the Church's engagement with civil society, government institutions, and international organizations for the betterment of communities.

4.  To promote interfaith dialogue and understanding, emphasizing the Church's role in fostering religious harmony and peaceful coexistence.

5.  To identify emerging challenges faced by the Church and society and develop actionable recommendations for addressing them.

Target participants include Christian leaders and representatives from various denominations, Scholars, researchers, and academics specializing in theology, social sciences, and related fields, Government officials, policymakers, and representatives from international organizations, NGOs, civil society organizations, and community leaders, Students and youth representatives. The conference aims to produce a comprehensive conference report summarizing the key findings, recommendations, and action plans for strengthening the collaboration between the Church and society. This report will serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, religious leaders, and practitioners committed to promoting social justice, sustainable development, and human well-being. By convening this international conference, we seek to create a platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among diverse stakeholders. Together, we can explore innovative approaches, nurture partnerships, and strengthen the transformative impact of the Church on society. Let us join hands to build a more just, inclusive, and compassionate world 

 

All registered conference participants will have automatic membership of the International Association of Christian Educators, Leaders and Development Practitioners (IACELDEP), participation at yearly conferences, fellowships, opportunities for international travels and exposure, including discounted enrolment and registration fees for courses and programs of the Christian University for Leadership Education and Development (CULED) and partners.
